What a comfort to know you are where you can continue to be cared for the remainder of life…but socialize and dine with those of like abilities…it is comforting to resident and the family alike. Through the windows is a courtyard…just right there! A majestic waterfall gives a sense of privacy with its wall of water to those enjoying aqua-aerobics or therapy assisted by professionals. Throughout the courtyard there are covered walkways to enjoy…no matter the weather. Gardens, a terrace, sitting areas, a greenhouseare all secured by a wrought-iron fence. Even evacuations are planned to bring residents to safety. Beyond the fence is a lovely three-acre park designed by the landscape designers of the Aquarium. They obviously know what they are doing. It is a virtual Disneyland looking delight. Covered walkways connect the surrounding facilities along with four lakes with water features in each, a raised Entertaintment Pavilion in the center, sitting areas, flower gardens…you really have to experience this unique delight. It is breath taking… To continue our tour, we turn left past the leasing office and beauty salon into the ‘fun’ room. A foosball, TV lounging area with a G-Scale Model Train circling the ceiling, and to the right a large window looking through the fitness/physical therapy gym onto the courtyard. It inspires ‘fun’ in young and younger alike. Through the ‘fun’ room to a library where medication assistance is available, an entrance to the courtyard, and an entrance to the activities room. Wow, a full kitchen for delights and demonstation, yetsmall enough to be cozy, large enough to have ‘fun’. All kinds of activities happen in this area. Beyond the lounging room, TV areas, conversation areas, a place to rest and on out to a screened porch…one of five in the facility. The rooms, although most residents will want to actively be about the community. The rooms range between 450 and 510 square feet. Large enough to be comfortable, but small enough to encourage a social involement; activities are key to a high quality of life. Nearly every room can be joined to another room for a one-bedroom suite or easily changed to a companion room to conserve costs, increase the comfort of being with someone, and the security of another hand when needed. Kitchenettes can be easily added in every roomand personalized with a sink, microwave and refrigerator. That’s only the first level. Special Care (Alzheimer’s, dementia care, various other options) are housed on the second floor. There residents enjoy wonderful views from a protected and secured environment. The third floor is planned for those needing added Personal Care. Each floor has it’s own dining room, several activity rooms, and lounges. This gives the added benefit of ‘Aging in Place’ while affording the resident socialize with those of similar ability. Gorgeous views of the park, the amenities of this unique setting in a ‘Culture of Care’. One should not feel guilty about such a lovely place for their loved one…if anything, maybe a little envy. It is an awesome setting, yet one of the finest features is the available medical care for the senior and the family at the on-campus medical office building and many medical services. How convenient: the senior can avoid the long waits in waiting rooms, trips to medical services can be accompanied by lunch with the loved one at the Oasis.
